    2018 Charlottesville Night Out

On Tuesday, August 7th, 2018, 5:30-8:30pm, Charlottesville hosted its 2nd annual Charlottesville Night Out Event at the IX Art Park. This national program has brought together millions of community members and police around the country to foster a sense of community, help make our neighborhoods safer places, and enhance the relationship between neighborhoods and law enforcement.

At Charlottesville Night Out, neighbors enjoy food from Mission BBQ, Uncle Maddio's Pizza, Benny Deluca's and Kona Ice, as well as give-aways from many local businesses and organizations.

We host activities for folks young and old (face painting, bounce maze, dunk tank, etc), guests are able to meet with local officers, and we have a visit from the local fire department.

Families and neighbors join in a fun evening where we celebrate our community, build important relationships with all members of our community, and continue to make Charlottesville the best place to live!

Donations from The Bama Works Fund of Dave Matthews Band, Wells Fargo, and Crutchfield as well as food/drink donations from Mission BBQ, Uncle Maddio's Pizza, Benny Deluca's, Wegmans, and Target all help make this event happen.

What We Do

I want to thank you and the other individuals who organized [the Appreciation Dinner]. Often, the men and women who serve this community fail to receive the recognition and praise they so well deserve. They are local heroes and should be reminded that their service to this community is appreciated by the individuals they protect and serve.
