T-shirt Sales Benefit Fallen Officers

April 9, 2018

The Jefferson Area Motor Squad (JAMS) is proud to host the 6th annual Jefferson Area Motor Squad Skills Training Seminar May 31-June 2, 2018, located at the Sam's Club of Charlottesville parking lot.  The Jefferson Area Motor Squad Skills Training Seminar is a way for motor officers to improve their riding skills, exchange new training ideas, and improve or create inter-agency relationships. It is also an opportunity to give back to the community.  A portion of the proceeds raised for the 2018 seminar will be donated to the Virginia State Police Foundation and earmarked for the families of  Lt. Jay Cullen and Trooper-Pilot Berke Bates.  We are also excited to offer this years official JAMS t-shirt for purchase to everyone nationwide.  Proceeds from t-shirt sales will also be donated to the Virginia State Police Foundation.

Lt. Cullen and Trooper Bates were tragically killed in the line of duty, while providing air support, when their aircraft went down during the August 12th, 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.  Please help support their families by purchasing a shirt.  Thank you!

CPD Officer Perspective

I have been a Police Officer for a long time. I have seen both joyful and horrific times thru the years; some dark days & rainy nights I have even asked myself if it was worth it, and did anybody really care? Thanks to the Foundation, I know someone does. Not just funding equipment or training or the many other things that have been done, but by letting us see all of you among us as we work. The outpouring of support from the community itself has demonstrated to us that there are still SO MANY good people in this broken world.
