On Tuesday, September 10th, 2019, 5:30-8pm, Charlottesville is hosting its 3rd annual Charlottesville Night Out Event at the IX Art Park.

This national program has brought together millions of community members and police around the country to foster a sense of community, help make our neighborhoods safer places, and enhance the relationship between neighborhoods and law enforcement.

At Charlottesville Night Out, neighbors enjoy free food from Mission BBQ, Firehouse Subs, Uncle Maddio's Pizza, Benny Deluca's and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, as well as give-aways from many local businesses and organizations.

We host activities for folks young and old (bounce maze, dunk tank, corn hole, etc), guests are able to meet with local officers, and we will have a visit from the local fire department.

Families and neighbors join in a fun evening where we celebrate our community, build important relationships with all members of our community, and continue to make Charlottesville the best place to live!

Donations from The Bama Works Fund of Dave Matthews Band, IX Art Park, Wells Fargo, Wegmans, and Crutchfield as well as food/drink donations from Mission BBQ, Firehouse Subs, Uncle Maddio's Pizza, Benny Deluca's, Sticks Kebob Shop, and Chick-fil-A all help make this event happen.

The Police Department supports the Boys & Girls Club Teen Program by sending officers to the Cherry Avenue Club from 7 to 11 p.m. during the summer. There is nothing quite like seeing a police officer on a Teen Night in the Club, smiling, shooting hoops, or riding a mechanical bull to humanize all officers for the kids. The Club appreciates its unique partnership with the CPD and CPF.
