10th Annual Cops 4 Kids Day a success

May 5, 2018

Cops 4 Kids Day 2018 at the Boys & Girls Club was another huge success! Hundred of kids and dozens of police officers spent a fun time together on May 4th, 4-6pm.

They enjoyed games, food, and prizes galore. Officers felt supported by the community they serve, and kids and parents enjoyed getting to know the men and women behind the badges.

Many amazing volunteers served selflessly in the heat to organize t-shirts, set up tables and tents, direct traffic flow, serve food, refill water guns, help with the bounce mazes, put on tattoos, help with the ice cream truck, take pictures, pick up trash (so much trash!), and much more - all with smiles on their faces!

We appreciate their efforts and could not host this event without them. We are also grateful to the Boys & Girls Club staff for partnering with us, hosting us, and supporting our efforts. We are already looking forward to next year!

James Pierce

The Police Department supports the Boys & Girls Club Teen Program by sending officers to the Cherry Avenue Club from 7 to 11 p.m. during the summer. There is nothing quite like seeing a police officer on a Teen Night in the Club, smiling, shooting hoops, or riding a mechanical bull to humanize all officers for the kids. The Club appreciates its unique partnership with the CPD and CPF.
