The Charlottesville Police Foundation is an organization made up of caring community members who put officers in the best positions to succeed through many programs designed to support their success. We thank you, our donors and friends for your incredible generosity in supporting our efforts.
We are proud of the work we did this year. The Lunch and Learn series informs and connects our citizens to the most critical topics in law enforcement. To date we have hosted 12 presentations that have covered topics from K-9 to Community Policing to Use of Force, we continue our officer housing program, have supported the Youth, Blue & U program that creates relationships with youth and officers, we hosted an Officer of the Month celebration where 29 officers were recognized for meritorious and often life-saving service, and we hosted the inaugural speaker, Ron Griffin a former NYPD 911 First Responder who inspired all of us at the kick off of the Post Academy Training Class.
We head into 2022 focused on continuing to build bridges by funding programs that will help our officers take care of themselves and their community, including programs that help them be effective in a new era of policing. we will continue to support the Youth, Blue & U program; we are planning a blood drive sponsored by CPD, we will continue the Lunch and Learn series that engages and informs community members, and much more.
This Giving Tuesday, we invite you again to join our efforts by considering a gift to the Charlottesville Police Foundation as we work to serve our entire community.
